Marsden Cove 18th April
This was always going to be a flat fast race on the inner Harbour in Whangarei and it was !!!
Flare up and flags down and we were off side by side with Rayglass until A1 Homes came over and gave us no where to go except pull back. The water roosted off the other boats cleared and we could see where we were going again. We came inside Rayglass and nailed it catching them up and passing them before the first corner, a great feeling.
We pulled out a 20 + second lead and held that for the first half of the race, Sam and I were talking saying that Rayglass would be coming for us soon as they always get faster towards the end of a race as they use fuel and loose weight and sure enough our lead was slowly reduced lap after lap.
We rounded the last corner with Rayglass right behind us, Sam nailed the last corner holding our line and holding our lead over the finish line to take the win. Hurray !!!!!!!!!!!
